If your hijack can't be built
Every hijack goes through automatic checks (technical rules, an AI safety review and a render test). If a build fails, the AI retries once on its own. If it still fails, you get a free new prompt and keep your price and place in line, up to 3 prompts per hijack.
- At any point while you are waiting for a new prompt you can choose "I'd rather get a refund" instead: you get the full amount back.
- If all 3 prompts fail, the hijack is refunded in full automatically.
- If your payment arrives after your price hold expired and someone else took your number, you are refunded in full.
- If we are down (for example the AI provider is unavailable), your hijack simply waits in line and is built when we are back. You are never charged twice.
After your hijack is live
A hijack that went live is complete, even if someone hijacks the site again a minute later. That is the game, so it is not refundable. We also don't refund hijacks removed for breaking the Content Policy on purpose, or accounts banned for abuse.
How refunds are paid
Charges appear on your card statement as OCTAL* HIJACK. Refunds go back to the card you paid with, through Stripe. They usually show up within 5 to 10 business days, depending on your bank. Questions or a problem with a charge: hello@hijackthe.site.
