Hijack the Site (hijackthe.site), a website anyone can pay to take over, is operated by Octal Codes ("we", "us"). Payments are collected by Octal Codes. By creating an account or paying for a hijack you agree to these terms.
What you buy
A hijack is a one-time payment, in US dollars (shown on your card statement as OCTAL* HIJACK), that lets you submit a prompt. An AI rebuilds the entire website from your prompt, and the result stays live until the next person hijacks the site. Hijack #n costs $n. The price you see at checkout is held for you for a short time; if the hold expires before you pay, the price may change.
You do not buy the domain, any time guarantee, or any minimum time on the site. The next hijack can happen seconds after yours.
Your prompt and the result
- Your prompt and your display name are public and are shown, with the date and the price paid, in the hijack history forever.
- The page is generated by an AI and checked automatically. We do not promise it will match your prompt exactly.
- Every version must follow the Content Policy. We can reject, take down or roll back any version, and ban any account, at our discretion.
- You give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to host, display, archive and share your prompt and the generated page (including in the history, the timelapse and social media).
- Don't submit anything you don't have the right to use, and don't try to break the site, its sandbox or its checks.
Accounts
One person, one account. Keep your password safe. You must be at least 18, or the age of majority where you live, to pay.
Refunds

No warranty, limited liability
The site is provided "as is". To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything related to the site is limited to the amount you paid us for the hijack in question.
